How do we boost our energy levels and feel more motivated during the winter months?

I don't know about you but I'm struggling with the short, dark days! I'm having a day of self doubt, I can't get motivated and I've lost my focused. I'm feeling super anxious and overwhelmed and I'm struggling to know what to do with myself today, and this gloomy weather really isn't helping...

BUT... Without changing the pattern it's hard to break the cycle right?


What do you do when you're having an off day?

I would say most of us beat yourself up for not being productive enough, or for being lazy. Are you getting frustrated at yourself for feeling the way you do? But here's the thing. None of that stuff actually helps, in fact it only add to making us feel a whole lot worse!

So you know what I'm gunna say, there's always tomorrow! But for now:

Listen to what your body's saying.

Stop!

And just listen.

Close your eyes and just take a moment to calm your breath and focus the mind.


I don't know about you, but I already feel much better from taking those 5 minuets to just stop, do nothing for a moment.


If you feel like you want a boost of energy, here's a few things to help you get motivated again!

  • Write in your journal or make lists.

  • Organise your Pinterest boards / find new artist that inspire.

  • Surround yourself with positive and creative people.

  • Look back at old projects to spark your creativity.

  • Listen to an uplifting podcast to help you feel in a more positive space.

  • Let nature heal your soul but stepping out and going for a short walk.



Failing all that, grab a cup of coffee or your favourite hot drink and just say to yourself it's just not working today, and that's ok. I'll try again tomorrow.
